Grants of between $1,000 and $5,000 are available to eligible not-for-profit community organisations to support a range of volunteer activities. There have been some changes to what organisations can apply for so please be sure to read through the below before submitting your EOI.
This funding can be used to:
- Purchase eligible communication equipment items for use by volunteers ie. mobile phones or radio's
- Contribute to internet and insurance premium costs
- Contribute to the cost of laptops or similar for the primary use of online communication
- Assist with the cost of software equipment for computers and laptops.
Further to this the following can also apply if the organisation has volunteers under the age of 18 or whose volunteering activities supports children's development and well being:
- Purchase of appropriate protection equipment for volunteers
- Contribute to event costs, furniture and office equipment
- Contribute to the cost of fuel, storage, training and background screening checks
- Purchase of white goods, appliances and recreational equipment
In order to receive funding, grants must be used for activities that:
- Help community organisations to support the efforts of Australia’s volunteers
- Help community organisations to support the inclusion of young people to volunteering
- Encourage, support and increase participation in volunteering
To receive a grant, at least 40% of an organisation’s staff must be volunteers.
