A BETTER FUTURE FOR LONGANLEA ROAD
An Albanese Labor Government will widen Loganlea Road between the Logan Motorway and the Pacific Motorway on-ramp, delivering a faster, safer commute to local families.
Logan is one of the fastest growing cities in Australia, with its population set to almost double by 2041, and this is one of our busiest roads at key times of the day.
Loganlea Road is the critical link between the Logan Hospital, Griffith University and Meadowbrook shops and the Pacific Motorway.
Local motorists are already experiencing delays and congestion and without further investment they will find themselves stranded in ever-worsening gridlock.
That’s why an Albanese Labor Government will invest $22.5 million to help widen Loganlea Road to six lanes (three lanes in each direction) along this key stretch of road, as well as improving existing intersections and enhancing active transport opportunities.
The upgrade will cost $45 million in total with the other $22.5 million already committed by the Logan City Council.
When complete, this project will deliver a safer, less congested and more reliable commute for local residents in that part of Logan and beyond.
Only an Albanese Labor Government will partner with Logan City Council to deliver this critical infrastructure upgrade.

“This is a really important commitment for our local area in a part of our community I drive and run frequently, and know really well.
When I’m out talking to people in our neighbourhoods and gathering places, congestion and safety on Loganlea Road is raised with me regularly.
This commitment shows Federal Labor is listening and acting where we can to build a better future by taking pressure off local drivers.”

“Growing populations mean more investment is needed in infrastructure to keep up with demand.
Only an Albanese Labor Government will partner with local communities to deliver the investments they really need.”

“This is a fantastic announcement for our community who have been left behind by the Morrison Government.
Only Labor will stand up for a better future for families in our community"
