APEC Finance Ministers’ Meeting
On Sunday 12 and Monday 13 November I’ll participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Finance Ministers’ Meeting in the United States.
While at APEC, I'll also meet with my American, Chinese and Vietnamese counterparts.
At a time of persistent global inflation and heightened economic uncertainty, this is an important opportunity to engage with our international partners on the global outlook and the foundations for future growth.
These meetings will help us forge closer economic ties with neighbours in our region, which is critical given accelerating changes and challenges in the global economic landscape.
While in San Francisco, in addition to multilateral discussions on the global and regional economic outlook, I will meet separately with:
- US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen
- New Chinese Finance Minister Lan Fo’an
- Vietnamese Finance Minister Ho Duc Phoc
There will also be discussions on modern supply side economics, sustainable finance, the energy transformation, and digital technology in our region.
These engagements recognise that we give ourselves the best chance of getting on top of global inflation and creating a more productive and prosperous economy if we work together with our international counterparts.
