Australian Competition and Consumer Commission Chairperson

Federal Labor notes the Morrison Government has nominated Ms Gina Cass‑Gottlieb as the next Chairperson of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and will now await the usual appointment process involving the states and territories.

We thank Mr Rod Sims for his dedication, commitment, and contribution to the ACCC for more than a decade.

There are significant challenges ahead that the ACCC will need to be well-equipped to manage.

The ACCC’s role is vital in protecting the economy from concentration, maintaining fair markets where small businesses can compete and in guaranteeing consumers are treated fairly.
