Australian soccer greats celebrate diversity in Logan

30 October 2014

Former Socceroos and current SBS commentators Craig Foster, David Zdrilic and Jason Culina will be headlining a multicultural festival and soccer game on Monday, 10 November in Logan.

The World Game Multicultural Festival is being hosted by local Federal MP Jim Chalmer, and SBS, and will be supported by ACCESS Community Services Ltd.

The festival seeks to celebrate the Logan Community’s diversity through a friendly game and skills clinic in soccer – the world’s sport.

“No matter your language, background or culture, sport has the power to unite us.” Jim Chalmers said.

“It’s great to get such high profile soccer personalities to Logan to celebrate our strong, multicultural community.”

“Thanks to SBS, ACCESS Community Services, Westpac and all the other groups who have helped put this event together.”

The World Game Multicultural Festival will be held on Monday, 10 November 2014 from 3:15-5:30PM at the Griffith University Logan Campus Sports Fields. There will also be a free sausage sizzle sponsored by Westpac at Logan Central.

All are welcome, and enquiries are directed to Jim Chalmers’ office on 07 3299 5910.

Other groups supporting the event include Griffith University, Brisbane Roar FC, Football Queensland, Rochedale Rovers FC, South Brisbane Futsal Club and Football Brisbane.
