A Shorten Labor Government will contribute $250,000 towards a creative hub in Logan Central to support up and coming local musicians.

Labor’s contribution towards Logan City Council’s $8.5 million Creative HQ will go towards fitting out a youth space with a recording studio complete with instruments and equipment.

The recording space will allow local musicians to hone and develop their skills, and would be supported by Logan Live – a local initiative that provides professional development sessions for local artists and seeks to life the profile of local performers.

The creative hub and recording studio will address the lack of creative, cultural  and performance spaces in the local community.

It will be located in Logan Central near well-known local landmarks, including Logan Central Plaza and the Logan Central Library.

Construction is expected to occur in 2020.

Labor can afford to fund important social projects like this in our community, and properly fund essential local services like schools and hospitals because, unlike the LNP, we’re not giving big unaffordable tax handouts to the top end of town.
